Our January cleanup focused on a heavily littered stretch of Route 32 in New Windsor. This busy commercial corridor sees a lot of fast-food and beverage container litter, and the winter winds had blown trash far into the surrounding ditches.
Despite cold January weather, 22 volunteers turned out and worked for two hours to clean a 2-mile stretch. The team collected an impressive 62 bags of trash and recyclables, making a dramatic visible difference along the road.
Special thanks to the New Windsor Highway Department for providing traffic cones and helping with safety along this busy route.
